French bulldogs are a sensitive bunch. They’re prone to health problems such as joint and spinal issues.
All dogs need joint protection. What you do NOW will affect them later. Set your furry pals up for a life of success and give them the support they need.

Whether you’re home or traveling, improve your French bulldogs’ sleep and protect their joints with our favorite best dog beds that we personally use and stand behind.

1. Bnonya Orthopedic Dog Bed
These are the beds we use in crates. They fit perfectly in the size crates we have which are around 32/35 inches.

Pros:
- Washable cover, just remove the foam and throw in the machine.
- Only one piece to insert.
- Thick orthopedic pad offers great support.
- Non skid.
- Sofa-like design, great for elevating and supporting the head and neck.
- Fits in crates over 30inches.
Cons:
- A little pricy but still worth it
2. Human Dog Bed
We use this dog bed all day every day and not just for the dogs. I have been known to take naps on this bed. It’s more comfortable than our couch! We add some pillow to one end for a little extra support.
Pros:
- Massive, tons of space for you to cuddle with your best friend or friends!
- Faux Fur material is super soft and comfortable.
- Easy to clean, machine washable on gentle.
- Supportive, thick foam.
Cons:
- Massive. May not be great for small spaces.
- The edges are like pillow filling and flatten easily.
- Expensive.

3. Urpet Orthopedic Memory Foam Dog Bed
Pros:
- Available in 3 sizes.
- Thick memory foam.
- Velvet waterproof cover.
- Thick, firm bolster, supporting the head and neck.
- Waterproof internal liner for the foam itself, machine washable cover.
- Nonslip bottom
Cons:
- Easily shows dirt and debris.
- Previous designs’ zippers needed to be clamped shut, but the one offered is new and upgraded.
- Heavy.
- Multiple pieces to remove and insert before and after cleaning
- Things like hair and dirt get trapped under the bolster
Hopefully with the upgraded design, zipper fixing is not needed.
We have 2 of the older design, size XL. After fixing the zipper, they have been holding up great and are easy to clean.
4. Donut Bed Dog Bed
We like to use these for puppies in the whelping room. They love the furry fabric. I also use them for puppy photography!
Pros:
- Soft and Fluffy.
- Great for aesthetic.
- Puppies and small dogs love them.
- Small, lightweight, and easy to clean.
- Anti slip bottom.
- Inexpensive.
Cons:
- Not very supportive for adult dogs.
- May not last long if you have a dog that likes to shred things.

5. Elevated Dog Bed
Our dogs LOVE these elevated cots. We keep them inside and outside. They use them to chew bones, roll around, and bask in the sun.
Don’t purchase any cot with a plastic frame as they don’t hold up in heat and sun.
Also don’t purchase any that have locking joints. They don’t stay locked and the beds collapse within minutes of first use. I tried one and almost broke my ankle. It scared the dogs too when it collapsed for them.
Pros:

- Supportive and relieves joint pain, better than sitting or laying on the floor.
- Great for training!
- Only a few inches off the ground, easy to get on and off
- Breathable, which makes them great for outdoors, especially in summer.
- Mesh is easy to clean, just hose it off or throw it in the washer.
- Chew and dig proof fabric.
- Easy to assemble.
- Heavy duty velcro keeps the cover in place, long lasting.
- Comes in Multiple sizes.
- Metal frame wont warp in the sun.
- Great for indoors and outdoors!
- Inexpensive.
Cons:
- Puppies like to chew on the corners.
- Doesn’t fold, which makes it not so great for travel, but don’t worry we have a folding one right below!
6. Elevated Dog Bed for Travel – small
We use these for puppies when we go on field trips.
Pros:
- Great for small spaces like restaurants.
- Breathable mesh fabric.
- Easy to clean.
- Awesome for small dogs and puppies.
- Great for training.
Cons:
- Folds in half, not as compact as the larger one below.
7. Elevated Pet Bed for Travel – Large
Again, we use these for field trips to places like breweries, wineries, and restaurants. It folds up like a camping chair.
Pros:
- No assembly needed.
- Multiple colors offered.
- Great for multiple dogs.
- Compact storage, folds up and goes into a bag to be stored in your car.
- Carry strap to sling over your shoulder.
- Easy to clean.
- Breathable, keeping your dog cooler in the summer months
- Great for training
- Relatively inexpensive.
Cons:
- Slides around from time to time on flat surfaces like concrete.
This cot isn’t the exact one we have pictured but pretty close!
8. And Last but NOT LEAST – Dog Cooling Mat, Gel, Pressure activated
While it’s not the perfect product it really does work! Our air conditioning went out and was broken for a month. Some days it was 90 degrees outside, reaching past 80 inside, and this cooling mat really came in handy. Not only for the dogs but for myself as well.
Pros:
- IT WORKS
- Polymer ice gel, doesn’t leak.
- PVC coated surface makes this dog cooling mat easy to clean
- Durable
- Contains pressure-activated gel. Add cold water to absorb your dog’s body heat.
- The built-in sponges and gels will protect the dog’s joints while cooling down.
- Does not require refrigeration, batteries or electricity.
- Great to put on top of elevated dog beds, car seats, or even just on the floor.
Cons:
- You can’t really empty/deflate it.
- Heavy once filled.
- Based on reviews, recommended to purchase every season.
- Lumpy and requires some maneuvering for a more even spread.
There are other more expensive brands but this one does just fine for us!
